Bill Ullinger established Redgate Wines in 1977, made his first wines in 1981, built the winery in 1983 and hasn’t looked back since, producing fantastic wines like this 2009 Chardonnay.
After de-stemming and chilling, the hand picked fruit was fermented in new French oak with periodic lees stirring to add complexity and enhance mouthfeel.
Winemaker Simon Keall has produced a stunning wine, bright straw in colour with lifted peach, citrus and oak aromas. Complex and layered, it displays persistent peach and melon flavours, a hint of acid freshness and savoury lees persistence.
