An underrated variety which grows well in the Hunter, and when made well can give excellent results, like this delicious example from Usher Tinkler.
Pale lemon green. Peach, apricot, lemon and ginger. Rich and ripe, bursting with flavour showing as stonefruit and crystallised ginger, silken texture and mouthfeel and fresh balancing acidity. A well made Viognier.
