Winemaker Glen Goodall believes that fruit should be guided from the vine and into the bottle - this powerful yet restrained Chardonnay is a great example of his gentle, finessed hand.
Made entirely from Gin Gin clone Chardonnay, which was whole bunch pressed followed by 100% barrel fermentation in French oak. Wild fermentation was encouraged on 80% of the blend to introduce more complexity. The individual batches were lees stirred throughout a nine-month oak maturation period, without any malolactic fermentation.
Made by Glenn Goodall, it has a bright nose with fleshy white fruits and a hint of toasty development. The palate is sweetly fruited, supple, fleshy and juicy in a powerful yet restrained style with a complex mix of fig, melon and stonefruit. Sweet oak provides support to this savoury and complex wine.
