Barossa Valley

The Barossa Valley is arguably Australia’s most famous wine region. It has a unique relationship with the grapevine that stretches back to the area’s early pioneers. The toiling of these mostly German and English migrants remains the foundation of many of the wineries. Wineries and brands such as Basedow, Yalumba, Gramp’s, Bethany, Langmeil, The Willows Vineyard, Kaesler, Thorn Clarke and Chateau Tanunda have unique stories to tell and many of these wineries continue to function in well-preserved, 19th century stone buildings.

Classified as warm climate, the Barossa Valley provides excellent conditions for full-bodied wines with Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache dominating the red plantings. It’s also home to the world's oldest Shiraz vineyards, dating back to the 1840s.
