The Dechamps family established the original Yeringa vineyard in the early 1800s, which then fell into decline in the 1920s, along with much of Victoria’s wine industry. The Yering Farm wines are made on site from estate-grown fruit using traditional winemaking techniques.
This wine is medium red in colour with a slight brick tint that’s typical of Pinot Noir. There’s some plummy fruit richness on the nose, along with earth, pine forest and mushroom notes. The palate is rich, warm and textural, with layers of dusty, dark fruit flavours and earthy developed complexity.
It’s still quite fresh and youthful for a Pinot Noir of this age
