Although Trebbiano is the second most widely planted grape in the world, this Italian variety is relatively unknown in Australia. Thank goodness for Campbells and their beautifully crisp interpretation.
Trebbiano has found a niche in Rutherglen where it ripens late in the season and retains its vibrant acidity while developing ripe fruit flavours. Pale lemon straw in colour this wine shows restrained citrus and mineral aromas, while the palate is clean with a light blend of citrus, mineral and talc, good texture and tight acidity. Try this wine with a risotto bianco.
