While the Southern Highlands is one of Australia’s newest wine regions, the Lorentz family of Cherry Tree Hill has been growing grapes there for over 30 years. Experience their affinity with the local terroir in this plush Cabernet Merlot.
The Lorentz family have owned and run the Cherry Tree Hill property in Southern Highlands for over 30 years, and with the emergence of this area as a premium cool-climate wine region, started planting grapes in 2000. This wine is a 50/50 blend of Cabernet and Merlot, with the softness of the Merlot adding to the muscular structure of the Cabernet. Additional bottle age prior to release has added texture and complexity.
Ageing well with hints of maple, it features good tannin grip, layers of secondary characters and rustic earthy notes. Juicy and plush, it’s still showing primary red berry with firm acidity and tannin.
