David Hook Reserve Hunter Barbera 2012

David Hook is one of the Hunter Valley’s great innovators who’s embraced alternative styles with great success.
 
This Barbera opens with a savoury mix of dark fruit, leather, charcuterie and tarry, smoky notes. Medium weight and rich, the palate has a delicious layer of umami underpinning red and black fruits with hints of dried herbs and violet. An excellent example of the variety with a lovely texture and an elegant mouthfeel.
