After years of winemaking experience, Leigh Eldredge purchased his own property in 1993 to craft small batches of premium wines. Excellent vintage conditions and 24 months maturation in French oak has delivered a Gold medal winner.
Cabernet often plays second fiddle to Shiraz in Clare, but in good years can have as much concentration and power, as this Gold medal winner shows. It presents inky dark fruit aromas with minty varietal overtones, and a palate that is fresh and lifted despite its depth and intensity, thanks to velvety tannins and a fantastic acid backbone.
