In the winery: After fermentation and extended skin contact it was matured in 45% new, 36% one-year-old and 18% two-year-old French oak.
In the glass: Deep red.
On the nose: Sweet, dark plummy fruit and chocolatey oak.
On the palate: Rich and concentrated, but strongly varietal with blackcurrant, crushed leaf and mint, subtle dusty oak and powdery tannins giving a youthful and intense style.
