Lagrein is native to the Tyrol region on the border of Italy and Austria, where Marcus Hofer's father was born, and this wine is an excellent representation of the native style.
Deep, dark red. Blackcurrant, mulberry, plum and cigar box. Powerful and full-bodied with waves of black and purple fruit, attractive varietal notes of tobacco and black tea, tightly-wound sinewy tannins and balanced oak in support.
