Bring a taste of Italy home with the Dolce Vita mixed 6-pack! For just $16 a bottle you’ll enjoy Arneis, Vermentino and Pinot Grigio in the whites, along with Lagrein, Sangiovese and Barbera in the reds. Bellisimo!
The Arneis (“little rascal”) grape hails from Italy’s Piedmont region. Sam Miranda has been making it for eight vintages, growing his grapes in a single vineyard at Myrrhee in the King Valley. The Sam Miranda Arneis 2013 is plush, juicy and ripe with core of pear fruit and a smooth texture.
The Hunter Valley’s First Creek has crafted the alternative variety Vermentino, which originated in Sardinia and Corsica, into a delicate, aromatic white. Try it out with the First Creek Vermentino 2013.
The Tomich Hill Single Vineyard Pinot Grigio 2013 has been handcrafted from estate grown fruit from Tomich Hill’s high altitude cool climate vineyard in the Adelaide Hills resulting in a wine of appealing varietal signatures.
A northeastern Italian variety, Lagrein is still an emerging variety in Langhorne Creek, but if the Bremerton Willson Family Lagrein 2013 with its sweet, concentrated and super intense palate with a mouth-coating mix of plump black fruits and juicy tannins is anything to go by, you really have something to look forward to.
Greg Cooley wines “are designed with food, family and friends in mind” so cook up your favourite feast, invite your loved ones over and share the delightful Clare Valley Greg Cooley Day Day & Chippa Sangiovese 2011. It’s light to medium weight yet savoury with a ripe core of red fruits, velvety texture, juicy mouthfeel and ripe yet firm tannin grip.
The Margan Limited Release Barbera 2012 was sourced from the Hunter Valley’s first plantings of the variety, which came from Italian stock. Bright, vibrant red berry, cherry and plum flavours show on the full-bodied palate with some hints of licorice, balanced cedary oak and strong, assertive yet ripe tannins.
Enjoy these fantastic Italian flavours today and save $57!
