Previously only known in Spain and Portugal, Mencia is quickly finding favour with Australian winemakers and wine drinkers alike. Medium bodied, savoury and spicy.
Deep red to purple. Spicy white pepper, prune, dark berries, kitchen spice and Sarsaparilla. Dry and savoury with an intensely spicy core of plum and mulberry and crushed herb, fine-grained tannins and lip smacking acidity. Dangerously drinkable.
