It has great texture with soft, almost creamy tannins and a dry, savoury finish.
With over 25 years winemaking experience, John Baruzzi is well versed in the art of crafting great Cabernet like the Millstone Cabernet Sauvignon 2011. Deep red purple in colour, it has a dense, dark and rustic nose showing cassis, charcuterie and eucalypt. The medium to full, robust and meaty palate with a dark core of fruit and plush tannins displays layers of cured meats, cracked pepper and savoury oak.
McLaren Vale is deservedly famous for producing Shiraz with a rich, up front and boisterous palate of plum, spice and dark berries as demonstrated by the Vinrock Shiraz 2011. Made by winemaker Marco Iannetti with fruit sourced from the Luca Vineyard, this Shiraz is full, dark red in the glass with aromas of dark berry, and plum with a cedary lift. The palate features dense, juicy dark berry fruit with vibrant acidity and cedary oak in support. It finishes with long plummy fruit length with ripe tannins and plush persistence.
