Eight at the Gate Cabernet Shiraz 2019 is a rich and powerful example of this classic Aussie red blend, from Wrattonbully, right next door to its more famous neighbour, Coonawarra. Drinking well already, it displays dense and deep black fruits with full power and structure, positive charry oak, satin-soft yet tongue-staining tannins and a deep, flavoursome finish.
Although located in the Adelaide Hills, Lambrook have sourced fruit from neighbouring McLaren Vale to craft their superb Lambrook Aloft Shiraz 2022. Amazing value, it’s medium to full-bodied, with an intense mix of red and black fruit flavours, savoury yet velvety tannins, fine balancing acidity, and a deluxe, glossy finish. Very stylish!
