The Rob Dolan True Colours Pinot Noir 2020 is an excellent example of the moreish fruit-forward Yarra Valley style, crafted from selected fruit sourced from vineyards in the lower and upper Yarra. Its complex palate delivers cherry and red plum flavours across finely textured tannins. Fine and expressive with good balance of acidity, tannins and subtle oak, leading to a long, silken finish.
Fowles have crafted their juicy Are you Game Pinot Noir 2019 using fruit from two of their Strathbogie Ranges vineyards, but have also added a splash of Sangiovese, which adds structure and depth. It’s light and silken with good intensity of cherry, blood plum and raspberry, and hints of bramble, tilled earth, sweet spice and graphite adding interest. Fine, supple and long.
