Pinot G is a mutation of Pinot Noir, and the small, tight bunches when ripe are an attractive blue/grey colour, hence the Italian term Grigio and Gris in French.
In the glass: Very pale with a slight bronze blush.
On the nose: Red apple and ripe pear with notes of straw and dried herb.
On the palate: Very savoury and vinous with an earthy mix of white fruit and herbs, mouth-watering texture and racy acidity. An excellent food wine.
