Merlot is often used to fill out the mid-palate of Cabernet, but Bird in Hand has flipped this to produce a deeply soft Merlot with its finish extended by the Cabernet’s fine-grained tannin structure.
In the glass: Deep, dark red.
On the nose: Dark berry fruit with notes of coffee and dark chocolate.
On the palate: Fine and dry with red plum, cherry and cola, cassis, ripe herb freshness, subtle mocha oak and a clean line of acidity.
