With a reputation for being a difficult variety to grow, Arneis loosely translated means ‘little rascal’ in the local dialect of Piedmont in the north east of Italy, where it was traditionally grown.
Rutherglen’s warm-to-hot days with cool nights help maintain the delightful freshness and crispness that makes Arneis so special. Pale lemon in the glass, this delightful 2014 Arneis opens with a fragrant nose showing florals, light stonefruit, apple and lime juice. This is a rich wine with good depth of flavour and generosity of fruit, chewy texture and good balancing acidity.
