Bimbadgen: A Place of Good View

Call in at Bimbadgen for the view, stay for a full sensory celebration.

The dappled winter sun filtering through a vine-covered pergola, throws a gentle light onto a long table filled with sumptuous wines. In this Tuscan-inspired courtyard, the ideal choice for a relaxed gathering of family and friends, wafts of smoky warmth drift over from the wood-fired oven. You and your guests, awaiting your pizza feast, take in the incredible view of the surrounding Barrington Tops and Brokenback Ranges.

Bimbadgen is named after the Indigenous word for “Place of Good View”, but it’s not just your sight that’s indulged here; the immersive experiences at this iconic Hunter Valley location will excite all your senses.

We’re so lucky at Bimbadgen to have so many touchpoints to introduce our wines to people

- Sophie Andrews, Bimbadgen's Head of Hospitality

You’ll discover this in the courtyard, but also if you choose fine dining in the award-winning Esca Bimbadgen. Suspended above the winery, the entrance to this renowned culinary destination offers a unique vantage point where you can take in the sights, sounds and smells of Bimbadgen’s wines being crafted below.

In designing its menu of clean, contemporary flavours, served in its elegant dining room, Esca Bimbadgen Executive Chef Mark Marshall and his team aim to see you satiated with a taste of the finest Hunter Valley produce perfectly matched with Bimbadgen’s incredible wines.

Three extensive tasting experiences highlight how the different soil types across Bimbadgen’s single vineyards translate into wines of unique prestige. Breathe in their aromas as you luxuriate in a Hunter tasting like no other.

Another experience that begins in the cellar door is a Bimbadgen Vineyard Picnic. From a tasting of the Growers Range wines, you’ll hand pick a bottle to take out into Bimbadgen’s amphitheatre and vineyards. Here, reposing on a picnic rug with that spectacular view as your backdrop, you’ll sip your wine of choice while sampling a selection of cuisine from Esca Bimbadgen.

While these experiences can make for a memorable Hunter day trip, if you’re lingering longer, Bimbadgen extends a warm welcome to their Homestead and Cottage - a quaint country stay promising unparalleled hospitality.

It’s the ideal place to sit and enjoy a glass of red by the fire in the winter months, or to relax by the pool in summer,
